Rabbit First Aid Kit

Here is a list of all the medicines and items that you should have on hand in case something happens.

All items in this list will be able to be attained without a veterinarian proscription.

 

 

Administration:

  • Rubber Gloves: To keep you and area of treatment sanitary while treating animal. Disposable gloves are best.

  • Cotton Balls: To administer topical oinments and to clean areas in question.

  • Q-tips: To clean many areas of a rabbit, also to administer topical things.

  • Eye/medicine dropper: Drop medications into eye, mouth, etc. Also to feed kits.

 

Antibiotics:

  • PPG (Penicillin-Procraine G)

  • Terramycin ophthalmic ointment (Oxytetracyline with polymixin B)

  • Terramycin soluble powder (Oxytetracyline)

  • Neosporin

 

Probiotics:

  • Probios

 

Anthelmintics (Anit-Parasite):

  • Ivermectin,

  • Pipperazin

  • Fenbendazole

  • Corrid

  • Poultry Dust

  • Baby Oil

 

Anticoagulants:

  • Kwik Stop (Syptic)

  • Corn Starch

 

Bandages:

  • Gauze pads

Hypodermic needles and Syringes:  

  • 22 gauge for injections

  • 20 gauge for SQ fluids

  • Oral syringe

  • Flushing/curve tip syringe

 

Healing:
